The inspiration for the 42 new houses at Plantation on the Dartington Estate was the clusters of traditional houses around shared greens in and around the existing village.

A Design Code was written to ensure that the Custom Build houses came together as a unified neighbourhood and yet allowed individualisation within a set of materials and house-types.
